Hello everyone!
So we've got a whole bunch of readings, a whole bunch of films from every area of cinema we can think of, and an open-note exam.
Here is what I propose:
We all have our weeks. Provide a summary of your film, the articles for your week, and the hot spots D-Rock hit in class.
At this point, it’s important that we are CONSISE. The last thing anyone needs is to read 4 pages of notes that need to be strung together frantically in the exam.
Our notes should be study guides that will be useful IN the exam.
As a guide:
Break the argument of each article into no more than FIVE points, with a couple of sub-points for each. (Or, as close to this as possible…)
Provide a more in-depth summary along with this “reading for dummies.” Citing page numbers is useful, as going directly to the article for detail can clear up any confusion.
Movie summaries: Names of principal characters, and key plot points. If your movie has no plot to speak of, then maybe some highlighted features would be useful. Again, mentioning the hotspots D-Rock brought up in class would be golden. Especially the “think about this” questions she frames each screening with.
Everyone can email me his or her week for FRIDAY DECEMBER 8 at MIDNIGHT. I will compile everything into one document, and send it out.
wendy.birt@gmail is how you can reach me.
It would be helpful if everyone gave me your name and email when you send me your week. I’ll compile a list so that we can contact one another with individual concerns.
Good luck!
Wendy
