Reports to: Director, Marketing, eBay Canada
Location: Toronto, Canada
Overview:
This role will be part of the eBay Canada marketing team. This team is responsible for getting people to buy and sell on eBay for the first time, and developing them into life-long, loyal traders who think about eBay for anything they want to buy or sell.
Primary Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a talented broadcast journalism / documentary filmmaker to help us bring eBay user stories to life for the broader eBay community. We believe that sharing these stories, and empowering users to share their stories, helps to build the eBay community and enhances the trading experience on eBay. We want everyone to know about the great stories of one-of-a kind finds, great deals, friendships, and winning something amazing that only happen on eBay.
Specifically, we’re looking for an Internet-savvy self-starter to:
• Develop video and web stories on eBay user experiences from treatment to interview to post-production
• Create an interactive, web-based video booth for soliciting user stories (an online speakers corner)
• Design and build (with an agency) a web-portal to feature these stories to our users in an engaging way
• Some travel may be required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
• Third-year, broadcast journalism or film production major from a Canadian university
• Complete bilingual fluency in French/English (written and oral) is required
• High energy and a desire to work in a results oriented, fast growth environment
• Skill and confidence in dealing with people at all levels of the organization
• A passion for understanding and serving the unique community of eBay
• Previous experience trading on eBay (buying and/or selling) is highly desirable
