Hey guys, need some feedback here. I just set up a note wiki for my Noir class - nickhaffieemslie.com/wiki. It's like wikipedia, anyone can sign up and edit notes. Do you think something like thsi would be good to implement for other courses? Is it a useful study tool? Is my faith in Film Studies kids misplaced, and really everyone would be too selfish to contribute to something like this? Is it too hard to use? Am I just a geek? With all these open note exams especially, I think we should really be pushing to come up with ways to collaborate on synthesizing the course material.

Haha oops, you couldn't edit the pages before... fixed that.
Try again now if you were having problems earlier.

good idea, definitely more organized than scattered emails of scattered course notes, maybe more trouble than people would figure its worth though.

I'm also worried people won't use it cause it's open - like this way you can get notes without contributing. But I like to think people aren't jerks. Are they jerks?

I like, and I would like to think myself in the non-jerk category. People may complain that some will gain without contribution, cause more people will look than contributed, but I like.

I don't know exactly how rss things are set up, (though i do know there exists the site www.rsspect.com/ made for that very thing, it hasn't been my bag) but if we all had laptops it would be way cool to just dump your notes after each lecture into a blogish feed with multiple contributers. That could be a great study thing, to whip through a few a pages of that, the topics would be together since they would all be submitted each lecture. ha, if someone made or found a plugin for Word to say 'Save and post to wufs.blog', it would be a major breakthrough. HA! and this is really advancing a theory ive built slowly over the years, that we are becoming the borg. We all will have palm attachments that we can't live without lest we miss the last informational/cultural upgrade. And we will angrily damn the injustice of the world when our azure-fang IHD wireless ST internet fails on our HDi palm device in the middle of the highway, for we'll be missing pertinent details and scheduled rss ichatting we were depending on for the afternoon of fun we were going to have in Toronto-Hive, and god damn this high-speed magnetic train makes an annoying hum noise that makes you wish it was over... The future! but I really want some sort of great portable device like that. My laptop can barely leave the house, its like 1999 technology, last century. it really slows down if a website is in hd? -sorry but i think this is funny and noticing the big letter trend in technology things right now (1024i ssd things), when will we go back to calling things like Palm 6000? or will a new wave of @-esque things integrate into marketting? Like more greek characters and asian characters, that would be great. It could give english some more pizazz to use, a new gateway to puns and internet elitism.
